Gorongosa National Park, in central Mozambique, announced on Wednesday that it will be closed until further notice.
In a short communique in English posted on its Facebook page, the Park states that: “While there are no confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mozambique, Gorongosa National Park is closed until further notice.
“Covid-19 could potentially devastate the communities living around the Park, and we want to play our part in reducing its movement and transmission.
“Our dedicated rangers, our community health staff, our agricultural support workers and our scientific team will all continue their work.
