GMFER supports the efforts of the Japan Tiger and Elephant Fund, a non-profit and non-governmental organisation working in Japan that contributes to the conservation of wildlife.
If Japan continues its policy to register undocumented elephant tusks, thousands of visitors will be able to purchase ivory hanko and other ivory products at the Tokyo Summer Olympics.
We want to pressurize Japan to close their domestic ivory market.

Results of a scientific survey carried out by Elephants Without Borders released yesterday confirms our worst fears that poaching has escalated in Botswana, once considered a safe haven for Elephants. Ivory markets need to be closed down if we want any hope of saving this iconic species.
